Brenda Black is an author and columnist of over 1,000 published works. As a preacher's wife, home school teacher, former parent educator, country girl with an MU journalism degree, auctioneer, and even professional rodeo queen,Brenda draws upon a wide array of experiences to relate to audiences. More about the speaker: Brenda is the co-author and editor of the newly released I Stand- A Miraculous Journey from Paralysis to Praise with gospel music recording artist Pam Morgan, documenting Pam's miraculous recovery from a complete spinal cord injury. She is compiling a number of her more than 300 devotional articles into a series of gift books, with the first Were You Born in a Barn - Life Lessons from the Barnlot and Beyond scheduled for release fall 2009. A child’s story book Cowboy Pete is slated for print next spring.
Black owns and operates “The Word's Out,” a writing and speaking agency, now in its 22nd year. She promotes organizations and their events, tells stories, covers the news, and shares her faith through oral presentations, press releases, newsletters, graphic design, and articles in newspapers and regional magazines. She is a member of the Heart of America Christian Writer’s Network and a two-time award winner in the HACWN writer’s contest.
Brenda and her pastor husband, Alan, make their home in rural Deepwater, MO. They have two sons, Austin and Cooper. She volunteers as a SS Teacher and 4-H leader, teaches her children at home and serves as the Missouri Cattlewomen’s Vice-President.
